# Tracking Petal Ads campaigns

Analytics module tracks Petal Ads campaigns.

To enable tracking, link your Analytics module and Petal Ads accounts via the `Petal Ads Link ID` used to attribute the installation source.

This section explains the steps for setting up AppMetrica tracking to work with Petal Ads ad campaigns.

## Step 1. Get a Petal Ads Link ID {#get-link-id}

1. Open Petal Ads, then go to **Tools** → **Events and assets**.

2. On the **Events and assets** page, click **+Add asset**.

3. Select the asset type **App (Applicable to Android apps)** and click **Next**.

4. Select the app from the list. In the **Analytics tool** line, select **AppMetrica** and click **Submit**.

5. On the **Events and assets** page, you can see the added asset and its **Link ID**. This **Link ID** is used to create a tracker.

   ![Events and assets](../../_images/link-id-petal-ads-en.png){style="border: solid 1px #cccccc; max-width: 800px;"}

6. On the right of the screen, click **+Add event**.

   {% note info "" %}

   If **Smart tracking** is enabled, you don't need to add an event.

   If **Smart tracking** is disabled, you need to import each event on the ad network side. To do this, click **+Add event** and select the event corresponding to the specified postback.

   {% endnote %}

7. Select **Activation** as the event type and **Analytics tool tracking** as data source, then click **OK**.

## Step 2. Create a tracker in Analytics module {#general}

1. In the Analytics module interface, go to **Tracking** → **Add tracker**.
1. Enter the name of the tracker.
1. Select Petal Ads as the media source.
1. Specify **Main** as the tracker type.
1. In the **Petal Ads Link ID** field, specify the ID you obtained in [Step 1](#get-link-id).

## Step 3. (_Optional_) Configure attribution {#attribution}

<!-- source: en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/_includes/tracker-special-attribution-clicks.md -->
This attribution type correctly detects the source that brought users to your app and accurately links app installs to ad interactions, whether they're a click or an impression.

For more information about attribution methods, see [AppMetrica tracking technology](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/technology.md) and [Impression attribution](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/vta-tracking-specification.md).

- **Reattribution** — Attribution of reinstalls by pre-existing users. This option is disabled by default. For more information, see [Attributing app installs](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/policy.md#reattribution).

    {% note info "" %}

    For test devices, reattribution is always enabled (regardless of the option status). For more information about adding test devices, see [Testing attribution](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/testing-attribution.md).

    {% endnote %}

- **Click settings**

    - **Fingerprint** — Time interval of attribution (the time between the click and first start). AppMetrica uses it for the [Device Fingerprint Matching](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/technology.md) attribution. The default value is 24 hours.
        Acceptable values are from 1 to 24 hours.

    - **Device ID / Install Referrer** — Time interval of attribution, that is used for the [Device Identifier Matching](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/technology.md) attribution. The default value is 10 days.
        Acceptable values are from 1 to 90 days for clicks and up to 24 hours for impressions.

- **Impression attribution**, also known as post-view attribution or view-through attribution (VTA), accounts for cases where a user didn't navigate to the app store by clicking an ad but still installed your app shortly after viewing it. The option is enabled by default. For more information, see [Impression attribution](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/vta-tracking-specification.md).

## Step 4. (_Optional_) Configure postbacks {#postbacks}

{% note alert "" %}

You don't need to configure the Installation postback for Petal Ads.

{% endnote %}

Postback templates are available for Petal Ads. Click **Add postback** and select the ones you need.

## Step 5. (_Optional_) Configure anti-fraud {#anti-fraud}

<!-- source: en/analytics/content/mobile-tracking/_includes/tracker-anti-fraud.md -->
Enable **FraudScore** to check installs and events for fraud via FraudScore.

**FraudScore** is a paid option ([Pricing plans](https://boost.yandex.com/doc/en/analytics/content/common/pricing/uae-currency.md)) only available for legal entities registered in Russia.

## Step 6. Save your changes {#save}
